Easter Treats

Since today was not a school day, Jackson and I made a few Easter Treats while Carly napped.  Along with the chocolate-dipped peeps that have been a blogland favorite,

we also made a long time family favorite...white chocolate mix, and gave it an Easter twist by using the fun pastel M&M's.  Here's the recipe, taken from our church cookbook:

In large bowl, combine 5 c Cheerios, 5 c Chex or Crispix, bag of mini pretzels (approx 10 oz), 2 c nuts (I used peanuts and almonds this time), and 1 lb M&Ms.

In microwave safe bowl, melt 2 packages (12 oz each) vanilla chips with 3 tbsp vegetable oil.  Stir until smooth.  Pour over cereal mixture and mix well.  Spread onto wax paper until cool.

Break apart, eat, and if you have any leftovers....store them in an airtight container!

Along with a few of my favorites, I'll be linking to

Yum!! I love the second mix you made, it looks really yummy! There is one that folks make around here that has popcorn and M&Ms in it with the white chocolate, and the salty and sweet is *just* right with it! ;) Yum!!

Yum! That reminds me of a Christmas mix my cousin makes. Same idea but it's popcorn, dried cranberries (like Craisins), pretzels, nuts and covered with the white chocolate! Sounds good!!
