Mossy Rock Designs Spotlight & Giveaway!!

If you've been here much at all, you know we are adopting, and you know I have a passion for adoption.  So much of me wishes I had a big ol' pile of money just sitting around ~ to not only pay for our own adoption, but to help others do the same!  (In my head, my pile of money is much like Scrooge McDuck's and I like to open the door and dive into the gold coins and swim.....anybody else remember DuckTales?!)  Anyhoo....one way I can support others in their adoption journey is bring them some awareness, so from time to time, I'll be featuring an adoptive family and their fundraising adventures!  And guess what?  The first one is today, and it includes a GIVEAWAY!!!

Our first spotlight is (drumroll, please....) Katie Bradley of Mossy Rock Designs!!

Katie is a stay at home momma of two boys, a wife, daughter, and friend.  She and her family are in the process of adopting their daughter from Ethiopia.  Her passion is creating watercolor and ink nursery art, and she has also recently illustrated two children's books (one is Miss Bunny, Mrs Mouse and Me)!  Seriously, this girl has TALENT!!  Lucky for us, she has an etsy shop, and 100% of her profits go towards bringing her daughter home.

Would you like to see some of the items from her shop?  I thought so!

Etsy Spotlight and GIVEAWAY!!!!

My friend Katie is one of the most creative and crafty girls I know (not to mention one of the sweetest)!  We graduated from the same college (I would like to say the same year....but I'll admit I'm older!), and are both transplants to the same area where our husbands grew up.  We get to work together with our church's youth group and I love to be able to see and hear the crafty things she is coming up with!

Lucky for us, Katie just recently opened up an Etsy shop, KDG Design Co!  She is currently featuring some great baby bracelets, key fobs, and dog collars.....and she is giving away an item of your choice to the winner of my very first GIVEAWAY!!!

Her adorable baby bracelets have been appearing on quite a few little cuties I've seen lately.  She uses a lobster claw clasp so no matter how active your little princess is, she won't be able to rip it off :)  The bracelets can be customized with colors you like, Baby's birthstone, or to match a special outfit!  I also love her key fobs....I was just browsing her ribbon collection (which I'm totally jealous of!) in her craft closet last night and I'm trying to decide which key fob to order.  Here's my favorite one in the shop...cute, right?

And finally, the dog collars!  Katie surprised me one day with the perfect collar for our Jakey...Go Steelers!

Not only is the collar cute (at least if you are a Pittsburgh fan), but it is durable and built to last!  Since I know Katie personally, I know she would never sell anything in her store that would be less than perfect!!

*Katie is continually adding new items to her shop, so keep checking back to see what's new!*

Ok, ok, the reason you are here.....the GIVEAWAY!!!  (Open to residents of the US and Canada!)

Katie has offered up ONE ITEM OF YOUR CHOICE from her Etsy shop!  You get to pick!!

To enter, just head over to the shop, come back and tell me in a comment which item is your favorite!  (THIS ENTRY IS MANDATORY).

What's that you say?  You want more chances to win?  Well....ok, you've convinced me!  For additional entries, you can do one or more of the following (please leave a separate comment for EACH).

*Become a PUBLIC FOLLOWER via Google Friend Connect of this blog, The Cellar Door Stories!
*Favorite KDG Design Co on Etsy!
*Facebook, Blog, Tweet about this giveaway (leave the links in your comment).

There's also a chance for BONUS ENTRIES!!!  Yep, that's right!  Order any item from KDG Design Co and get an ADDITIONAL *3* ENTRIES!  (Just leave 3 comments saying what you ordered).

The giveaway will close next Thursday, June 30 at 7PM and the winner will be chosen by Random.org.  I will announce the winner here on the blog, email you, and you will have until Saturday evening to email me with your choice and mailing information.

GOOD LUCK!

Etsy Spotlight #2: St. Patrick's Day

When I posted my first Etsy Spotlight, I had intended that it would be a somewhat regular occurence.  I guess two months later isn't so terrible.....here's some of my favorites when I searched "St. Patrick's Day."

Possibly the cutest little shoes EVER ~ although it's hard to say because there are SO many other adorable ones over at Bonnie Bluebelle's shop!

I love this Irish Blessing Sign from The Country Workshop.  They have a huge variety of signs in their shop!

To add just the right touch of green to your St. Patrick's day outfit without looking like a leprechaun, check out this scarf from estilopronta ~ lots more beautiful color combos in their store!

You could also add one of these cute felt flower bobby pins from WhataDo ~ check out all their fun headbands too!

I love the look of these - magnets made from vintage Irish stamps - what a cute gift idea, and the bonus is that they don't scream out, "ST PATRICKS DAY!!!" so they can be used year-round.  You can find them, along with over 200 other items, over at CrowBiz's etsy shop.

This Irish coin necklace from Dear Susan would be a great accessory for your favorite Irish lass, or anyone else for that matter!

Finally, I love garland of any kind, and this St. Patty's Day garland is so fun but still classy looking!  The other garlands at Paper Polaroid are just as great, and when I clicked on their shop info, discovered they are from Lancaster, PA ~ we're practically neighbors!!

Hope you had fun window shopping!

Etsy Spotlight

Oh Etsy, how I love thee.  I would count the ways, but there are too many.  I could spend hours just "window shopping" all the handmade or vintage goodies.  I thought I'd start featuring some of my favorites here.  If you read this blog, you're well aware that our biggest excitement lately has been the laundry room, so of course I've been searching Etsy for some things I dream of adding.....here's a few great finds!

Felted Wool Dryer Balls by Clean Sypria - they are to use instead of dryer sheets!  The shop sells all different varieties and you can even pick your favorite scent!  Clean Sypria says she has used the same ones for eight years and they still work!  Eight years!  Plus, they are just so cute!  It would be adorable to have a bowl of these sitting on your dryer.

Clothespins on the Line Print by honeytree - I adore the colors in this simple print.  Beautiful!  Come to think of it, I love everything in the whole shop!

This awesome ironing board cover by CityChickCountryMouse might even make one of my most hated chores enjoyable!  Love the fabric choice!

Love this Vintage Laundromat print by buckscountyframes - so fun!!  Another shop with gorgeous photography!

Simple and cute, this Laundry Day Print by Toxicguineapigs (how's that for a memorable name!) has me longing for a warm spring breeze!

I don't have a clothesline yet, but hopefully this spring I'll be getting one, and I would love to have this bag by HandmadebyBette to hold all my clothespins!

Great stuff, right?  There is some amazing talent out there!

Do you have an Etsy shop?  Let me know, I'd love to check it out!!
